Independence American Insurance Company (IAIC) is seeking an Actuarial Analyst-Sr. to analyze and evaluates the likelihood of future events to reduce and manage future financial risks.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Completes and interprets actuarial analysis, valuations, cost estimates, and modeling using mathematics, statistical programming, and financial theory.
  • Assists with the completion of rate filing documents for all states.
  • Researches rate filings, as needed.
  • Maintains and updates existing models, tools, and other files used for analysis.
  • May prepare reserving, forecasting, rate filings, pricing analysis, and experience reports for review.
  • Completes ad hoc reporting, as necessary.
  • Completes appropriate database work, as necessary.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Basic Qualifications:

Experience: 4 years' relevant experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, other quantitative field, or equivalent work experience (One-year relevant experience is equivalent to one-year college)

Licenses/Certifications: Must have passed Four+ Actuarial Exams

Level Specific Responsibilities:
  • Duties are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity
  • Possesses and applies broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to the completion of difficult assignments
  • Develops complex actuarial models
  • Interprets rate objects and prepares responses and rating support.
  • Interprets rate regulations and applies them appropriately to rating development and support
Accountability/Complexity:
  • May manage projects requiring the responsibility of delegation of work and review of resulting work product
  • Works independently under limited supervision
  • May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area
