Internal Communications Specialist

About the Role
Blackbaud is seeking a proactive and collaborative Internal Communications Specialist to support the development and execution of internal communication initiatives that foster employee engagement and alignment with the company’s vision and strategy. This role is ideal for a strong communicator and project coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about employee experience and storytelling. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including People & Culture, Marketing, and Corporate Communications—to ensure timely, consistent, and impactful messaging across internal channels.

What You’ll Do

• Content Creation & Messaging:
  • Draft clear, compelling, and tailored content (emails, blog posts, intranet articles, talking points, presentations), using generative AI tools to scale output.
  • Support executive communications and help translate strategic initiatives into employee-friendly messaging.
• Channel & Campaign Management:
  • Serve as a communications consultant to internal departments, advising on message development and delivery methods—including innovative, multimedia, and emerging formats.
  • Create and manage internal communications campaigns.
  • Support all-employee meetings, including content creation, Q&A coordination, and logistics.
• Project Management:
  • Lead or support internal campaigns related to employee engagement and brand initiatives.
• Measurement & Feedback:
  • Lead monthly measurement of internal communications efforts and analyze engagement data.
  • Monitor feedback channels and help adjust messaging based on employee input.
• Internal Communications Execution & Operations:
  • Lead review and approval process for internal communications.
  • Manage email setup and sends in the internal communications platform (Staffbase).
  • Manage internal communications requests and help maintain an updated communications calendar in Asana.

What You’ll Bring

• Deep experience or certification in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a communications role.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proven project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and developing effective solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
• Preferred experience in Asana or other work management platforms.
• Preferred experience in generative AI tools for content creation.
• Basic video editing skills and/or experience with simple video platforms are a plus.

The starting base pay is $61,000.00 to $77,800.00. Blackbaud may pay more or less based on employee qualifications, market value, Company finances, and other operational considerations.
