Cost Accountant

We are seeking a highly experienced Cost Accountant to join our team at Legends Furniture. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, developing cost standards, and providing financial insights to optimize profitability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry and possess strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes and production costs to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead to accurately reflect production costs.
• Monitor actual production costs against standard costs and investigate variances to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, variance analysis, and margin analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and finance, to optimize inventory management and minimize costs.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts for manufacturing operations.
• Conduct cost-benefit analysis for capital investments and new product introductions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and relevant industry standards.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices related to cost accounting in the manufacturing sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting.
• Manufacturing industry experience is required.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and techniques, including standard costing and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
