Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Tucson or Phoenix, AZ

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Experience Level: 2+ years of experience

About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of accounting experience and a strong foundation in accounts payable, reconciliations, bookkeeping, and general accounting practices. This role will also be responsible for maintaining vendor records and supporting month-end close processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable transactions accurately and timely
• Perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Maintain general ledger entries and ensure proper documentation
• Manage and set up new vendors, ensuring accurate data and compliance
• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis as needed
• Support audit and tax preparation efforts by providing necessary documentation
• Maintain and update Excel-based financial models and reports
• Perform other bookkeeping and accounting tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, reconciliation, and basic accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formulas
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and time management abilities

Nice to Have:

• Experience with an ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Exposure to supply chain or inventory-related accounting
• Familiarity with payroll processes and systems
