CIMA is looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in the Camarillo area. You will be responsible for the administration of a Tax office and preparation of simple and complex, individual and small business Federal and State tax returns. This is a Part-time to Full-time, permanent position. You will play an important role in promoting our services and expertise to prospects and clients.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients in person or over the phone in a professional manner.
• Informing clients on the tax preparation process
• Collecting relevant financial records, including pay stubs and income statements
• Inputting data from financial records into tax return software or databases
• Using applicable federal, state and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return
• Completing and filing tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state and local government entities
• Acting as a representative for clients with applicable agencies as required
• Building customer relationships to promote and expand the business

Qualifications

• Bilingual is desirable
• Prior individual and business tax preparation experience in a tax practice
• Knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts, and familiarity with form 1040 and schedules
• Ability/motivation to expand expertise and obtain a tax credential or certification
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to empathize and instill confidence
• In-depth knowledge of applicable tax laws, regulations and deadlines
• Proficiency with common tax preparation, word processing and spreadsheet software applications
• Great organizational skills, including time management and strategic thinking
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and keen attention to detail
