Sr Health Information Management Specialist Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.0 | Full Time | Primarily Mon - Fri / 8AM - 5PM Position Summary The Senior Health Information Management Specialist is responsible for scanning, indexing, document preparation, electronic health records (EHR), abstracting discrete data, quality assurance, health maintenance, deficiency analysis, and data integrity. The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, data privacy laws and health IT systems and plays a crucial role in ensuring that healthcare facilities meet the industry standards for medical record management and confidentiality. Position Qualifications Education Associate degree in health information management or related field, or 2 additional years of progressive experience in lieu of a degree), is required. Bachelor's Degree, preferred . Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in health information management, with focus on the specified areas is required. Proficiency in using scanning equipment and EHR Systems, knowledge of Release of Information Processes, healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH and other data privacy and security standards is required. Knowledge with Hyland OnBase Document Management System, Hyland Intelligent Medical Record (IMR), and of Epic MyChart Medical Terminology, preferred .
