Overview

We are seeking additional dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing quality education to students with diverse learning needs. This role involves creating an inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic and social development while employing various teaching strategies tailored to individual student requirements. New World Prep only offers special education services that require an ICT Setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Educate students using a variety of instructional techniques and resources, including technology, to enhance learning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and challenges.
• Create a positive learning environment through effective classroom management strategies.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student’s educational journey.

Qualifications

• Degree in Special Education
• Valid NYS teaching certification in Special Education preferred
• Experience working with children with special needs in an ICT classroom setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
