Job Title: Skid Steer Operator & Grading Specialist
Location: Statewide – Primarily SW Florida, Fort Myers & Tampa, FL
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and self-sufficient Skid Steer Operator with strong experience in precision grading . The ideal candidate is proficient in using a laser grader attachment , understands grading, slope, and drainage , and can work independently on varied job sites throughout Florida. CDL is an added bonus but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate a skid steer with a laser grader attachment to achieve precise grades and slopes per project specs
• Interpret blueprints, site plans, and survey markers to set accurate elevations and contours
• Perform finish grading for subgrades of concrete, asphalt, landscaping, and more
• Safely tow and maneuver a 35-foot gooseneck trailer carrying a skid steer and roller; demonstrate proper tie-down and transport techniques
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment and trailers
• Maintain equipment in good working condition; report any mechanical issues promptly
• Follow all company safety protocols and DOT/commercial vehicle regulations
• Travel as needed across Florida, with the majority of work in Fort Myers and Tampa
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating a skid steer with a laser grader attachment
• Strong knowledge of grading principles , slope/drainage planning, and finish work
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Proven ability to tow and operate a 35-ft gooseneck trailer with heavy equipment
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently on active job sites
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Willingness to travel extensively within Florida
Compensation & Benefits:
• Compensation based on experience (weekly)
• Company truck provided for travel and job site use
• All equipment and tools provided
• Lodging and per diem covered for out-of-town work (primarily SW Florida)
