Senior Medical Writer

 

Do you have a passion for turning complex scientific ideas into compelling stories? We are looking for a Senior Medical Writer to join a growing medical communications agency based in Boston. This agency specializes in developing innovative solutions for the life sciences industry, focusing on strategic storytelling, scientific engagement, and omnichannel campaigns. Their expertise spans rare diseases, complex science, and a wide range of services across commercial, medical affairs, promotional, and publications work.

 

Role Overview

As a Senior Medical Writer, you will play a pivotal role in developing high-quality medical and scientific content that aligns with client objectives. Your expertise will contribute to various projects, including advisory boards, educational modules, congress support, and more. Collaborating closely with creative and strategic teams, you will ensure the delivery of accurate, compelling, and audience-tailored content across commercial, medical affairs, promotional, and publications initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Development: Create and edit scientific materials such as manuscripts, slide presentations, infographics, and videos that effectively communicate complex medical information, particularly in rare disease and specialty therapeutic areas.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to develop communication strategies that engage healthcare professionals, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings to understand their needs, provide scientific insights, and ensure the alignment of content with their objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of accuracy, clarity, and adherence to relevant guidelines and regulations in all deliverables.

 

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in a life sciences discipline is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of medical writing experience within a medical communications or advertising agency.
  • Proven ability to interpret and present complex scientific data to various audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in rare diseases, complex science, or specialty therapeutic areas is highly desirable.
  • Experience with DTC and HTC work
