Senior Interior Designer Location: New Canaan Job Description Based in New Canaan, CT, our rapidly growing firm is looking to expand our team and seeking a highly motivated and skilled senior level interior designer who can lead projects from start to finish, executing and overseeing every step along the way to project completion. Ideal candidates must have expertise in new construction and managing a project through all phases. Projects are planned and executed on target, on time, and meet project and profit goals with high customer satisfaction.

Manage all phases of design from concept through construction and installation, including design development, research, sourcing, specifications and documentation
Ensure materials and furnishes are within profit margin specifications
Manage construction process from start to finish
Manage interior design process from start to finish

Job Requirements Experience
Minimum of seven years experience as an interior designer at a design or architecture firm
Bachelors degree required, preferably in Interior Design
Familiarity with high-end High Point and NYC luxury design resources is a must
Must have clean, sophisticated and discerning design sensibility that resonates with the firms portfolio of work
Knowledge of and proven experience with interior design process and principles
Knowledge of and proven experience with construction methods and process
Experience with maintaining schedules and budget requirements
Experience with comprehensive installations with special attention to details
Technical Skills
Highly proficient in Studio Designer (or similar) software, Google Docs, Microsoft Office with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
Proficient in AutoCAD is a plus
Proficient in Chief Architect or other 3D modeling software, Revit and SketchUp is a plus

Ability to build trust with team and clients for long-lasting client relationships
Strong work ethic with desire and ability to invest time and discretionary effort to deliver excellence
Work independently with high amounts of initiative and proactivity while also working as part of a team in a collaborative and friendly manner
Effective time management and organization with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to identify and solve problems with effective judgment and decision making
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to travel to trade shows including High Point (N.C.) annually and client installations in out of state locations. Our current projects are in Fairfield County, CT; Westchester and Long Island, New York; and Palm Beach, Florida.
The position works primarily in-office with occasional remote work with approval
Must have reliable transportation and a reasonable commute to office located in New Canaan, CT
