SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER/ILLUSTRATOR DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: Red Carrot is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Senior Graphic Designer/Illustrator to join our team supporting our government customer. This position will participate in a wide range of products, services, consultation, and technical advice to assist scientists and administrators in effectively communicating and promoting research efforts. This position requires product delivery to be performed on-site, 5 days a week, in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The role will also serve as the Art Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Graphic design of scientific posters, event posters, fact sheets, brochures, flyers, meeting booklets, trade show exhibit graphics and banners, name tags and table tents, and other materials required by clients.
- Design high quality anatomical, surgical, medical, scientific, and conceptual illustrations, in digital 2-D and 3-D, for publication in scientific journals or books, and for use in research posters presented at scientific meetings, PowerPoint presentations, and other products.
- Plan, analyze, and create diverse types of products in print and electronic format.
- Act as a creative resource, assisting clients with defining their design needs and providing them with creative options and solutions.
- Maintain compliance with the customer's policies and procedures.
- Guide and oversee the work of junior designers to ensure that all products generated are high quality and meet advertising industry standards.
- Assist other graphic designer(s)/illustrator(s), as needed.
- Production of graphic design products and illustrations, on an as needed and often urgent or last-minute basis, with many tasks having same-day deadlines depending on the customer's needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must Haves: - Must possess a minimum of a B.A./Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in design (e.g., graphics, advertising, marketing, or other discipline).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Art Director in the graphic design or marketing/advertising industry; or a combination of 7 years of experience in graphic design and illustration, and related training that provides the required knowledge, sills, and abilities to perform these tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
