Kasagi Labo is acquiring anime IPs and building an AI-powered social platform that connects fans and creators more effectively than traditional methods. We have deep connections in the anime industry, own an anime studio, and currently have two anime productions in progress. This role will help us refine our product to create a unique experience for anime fans worldwide.

We’ve one of the largest seed rounds in SEA totalling US$20M to build out our vision. The team is small because we can’t hire great people as fast as the company is growing. Our engineering team is consistently rated as one of the top within Asia.

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned SEO Specialist to join our team on a contract basis and lead SEO strategy for our innovative anime-focused social platform. You will play a crucial role in growing organic traffic, increasing visibility, and driving engagement among passionate anime fans.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with platform goals.
• Work closely with the content team to optimize copy, blog posts, and multimedia for maximum search visibility.
• Conduct regular audits, ensure the website adheres to best practices for indexing, speed, responsiveness, and mobile optimization.
• Identify high-impact keywords and implement strategies to improve ranking and visibility.
• Use data analytics tools to measure, track, and report on performance, continuously refining strategies based on insights.
• Monitor and analyze competitor SEO strategies and adjust our approach to stay ahead.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience leading SEO initiatives, ideally in a B2C platform.
• Strong technical SEO skills, keyword research proficiency, and content optimization expertise.
• Demonstrated experience optimizing engaging content tailored to specific user communities (knowledge or passion for anime is highly advantageous).
• Ability to work independently, manage projects, and deliver results in a remote environment.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to clearly convey strategies, insights, and recommendations.

Compensation

• Base cash comp starting at US$60,000 - US$100,000
• Generous equity grant
