Registered Nurse (RN) - Ortho/Spine - PRN III - Days at Norman Regional Health System summary:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Orthopedics/Spine, I provide comprehensive patient care on a 32-bed unit, focusing on orthopedic conditions including hip and knee replacements. My responsibilities include assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal outcomes. I hold a current RN license and am dedicated to evidence-based practices in my nursing role.

Overview:

Compensation

  • $42/hr 
  • Work 2 shifts/wk.
  • Evening differential $2.50/hr.
  • Night differential $3.00/hr.
  • Weekend differential $3.00/hr.

Ortho/Spine is a 32 bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients. We have disease specific certification from the Joint Commission in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Hip Fx patients which deems us a center of excellence. We also care for Total Shoulder and Ankle patients as well as other fractures. We also care for low level cardiac patients and some med-surg patients.

Job Summary

 

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
  • Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
  • Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
  • Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

  •   Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

 (Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure / Certification

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
  • New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
