JOB SUMMARY:

The Pharmacy Clerk/Tech is an integral member of the FHCSO Pharmacy team. They are the front line and very important to the patients' perception of the pharmacy by answering calls, relaying faxes and messages to pharmacists, office organization, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Clerical tasks such as data entry, typing labels and maintaining patient profiles
  2. Secretarial tasks such as telephoning, filing, and typing.
  3. Accounting tasks such as record keeping.
  4. Third party billing and posting.
  5. Responsible for faxing all contracted pharmacies a list of current prescribers.
  6. Inventory control tasks including monitoring, pricing, dating, invoicing, stocking pharmacy, and preparation of purchase orders.
  7. Help maintain a clean an orderly pharmacy.
  8. Assist health care providers and patients by answering questions and requests.
  9. Maintains pharmacy inventory by keeping accurate counts and adjusting counts when necessary.
  10. Keeps current with and follows new 340B guidelines set forth by 340B pharmacy policies and procedures
  11. Keeping supplies in stock and ordering when required.
  12. Verifying orders when received and remove outdated drugs.
  13. Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy.
  14. Maintains organization of medications.
  15. Correctly reads, interprets, calculates quantities, and enters prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system.
  16. Correctly fills prescriptions while maintaining a clean work environment.
  17. Maintains records by recording and filing physicians' orders and prescriptions.
  18. Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
  19. Participates in designated activities and projects for PCMH as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
  20. Follows the mission and vision statement.
  21. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Excellent written and oral communication as well as organizational skills.
  • Ability to retain employee confidentiality.
  • Computer Knowledge
  • Commitment to the mission of FHCSO.
