Job Title: Junior Devops Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC Work Arrangement: Hybrid Client Industry: Banking Duration: 12-18 Months (Possibility of Full-Time Conversion) About the Role We are seeking a Junior Devops Engineer to support a rapidly growing enterprise data platform. This team is building a Center of Excellence for their Starburst/Trino environment and needs a hands‑on professional with strong containerization and SQL experience. Starburst experience is not required; you will receive training on the platform. The ideal candidate should have experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, strong SQL skills, and hands‑on work with at least two relational databases. Key Responsibilities Support platform administration and DevOps activities for a large‑scale Starburst/Trino deployment Manage and maintain containerized environments using OpenShift/Kubernetes Assist with onboarding new tenants onto the platform Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with various teams across the organization Work on backend SQL queries to diagnose and optimize performance Support environment and configuration management activities Work with JDBC drivers, connection URLs, and related configurations What We’re Looking For 1–2 years of experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes (container platforms) Experience working with two or more relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, PostgreSQL, etc.) Strong SQL query development and troubleshooting experience Familiarity with JDBC drivers and connection URLs Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams Compensation Hourly Rate: $50–$55 per hour This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
