Bring your greatest skills to the greater good

Enhance your medical career while helping to improve the health and well-being of our Soldiers. As an infectious disease officer in Army Medicine, you’ll be responsible for studying the causes, effects, and patterns of infectious diseases, including biological warfare threats. Whether you choose to serve in the Regular Army or Army Reserve, you'll feel proud knowing your work greatly impacts the lives of our Soldiers, retirees and their family members.

Benefits may include:

* Repayment of qualified education loans to lending institutions

* An accessions bonus and special pay, depending on your medical specialty

* A monthly stipend through the Specialized Training Assistance Program (STRAP) based on your field of medicine while in an accredited residency program

* Low-cost medical and dental care for you and your family

* Enrollment into the Uniformed Services Blended Retirement System

* Travel opportunities, to include humanitarian missions
