Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is one of the most technically advanced designers and manufacturers of lightweight composite aerospace structures, subassemblies and components. For more than 50 years, AEC has innovated advanced composite solutions for defense and commercial industries in applications from large commercial transports to fighter jets and commercial and military rotorcraft. Our composite design and fabrication expertise can be found on many defense programs. AEC provides a wide range of products including complete structural assemblies, flight critical components, primary and secondary structural elements for platforms such as the F-35 Lightning II, the CH-53K Heavy-lift Helicopter and the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM). AEC SLC is supportive of student education through experiential development. We are currently looking for an intern to support various improvement projects in our Industrial Engineering department. An Industrial Engineering Intern will coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain Management to support AEC-SLC's long term business objectives, through performing data analytics, Facility Layouts, Footprint Optimization, and Project Management. Primary Responsibilities : Works closely with Operations leadership to prepare reports and data analytics Support in the development and upkeep of Operational Performance Metrics Support time study efforts and other data collection and aggregation initiatives Analysis of production Standards vs Actuals to facilitate reliable Capacity Planning. Support targeted plant layout design and modifications using AutoCAD Qualifications: Actively pursuing an Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related fields with at least one term of relevant work experience (Internship or Co-op) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Collaborative Spirit and Willingness to Think Outside the Box Comfortability with learning and applying Statistical Analytics Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD modeling software preferred.
