Our dedicated Health & Safety (H&S) team is adding a Health & Safety Manager who has a minimum of 10 years direct experience in occupational health and safety. The preferred candidate will have a degree in safety science or hold related certification (CSP, CIH, etc.). Ideally, you will have experience with water, wastewater, and electrical systems, flexibility to travel regionally, and feel confident presenting training materials to staff.
This person will join our current H&S managers to support our operations and management practice on the East Coast. The critical role will provide guidance and assistance to internal clients regarding regulatory and company compliance requirements and other matters pertaining to our employees occupational health and safety.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, assessing health and safety needs and risks, implementing safety programs and policies, and developing systems, procedures, and tools necessary to effectively implement corporate safety programs and policies throughout the company. The position will work closely with our Director of Health & Safety and Operations Leaders.
* Minimum 10 years direct experience in occupational health & safety or similar background;
* Preferred degree in safety science or related certification (CSP, CIH, etc.);
* In-depth knowledge of safety standards (i.e. OSHA) and application of such standards;
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety Management systems and deployment of such programs to a complex organization with multiple business operations at multiple sites;
* Experience with water and wastewater systems and/or electrical safety strongly preferred;
* Capable of conducting comprehensive safety audits;
* Ability to develop and present health & safety training material;
* Ability to develop site-specific safety plans and technical reviews of the same;
* Manage incident evaluation process, provide guidance to managers, and ensure preventative measures are in place;
* Provide safety leadership to internal clients to address safety issues relating to business needs;
* Build trust and strong personal relationships with team through proven consistency and leadership;
* Effective verbal and written communications;
* Organize data and processes;
* Adhere to deadlines;
* Work independently; and
* Flexibility to travel up to 40%.
