Chileda's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavior challenges. Chileda's goal is to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills, through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. Chileda's population includes children and young adults with special needs including Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, Attachment Challenges, related developmental delays, and intensive behavioral needs. We are seeking part-time Food Delivery Drivers to assist with transporting meals.

SUMMARY: Chileda has a contracted vendor for student mealtimes (lunch and dinner), which is prepared at the vendor's location. The Food Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting meals from the contracted vendor to Chileda La Crosse campus in a Chileda vehicle.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years old

• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds

• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate vehicle in a variety of weather and traffic conditions

• Ability to ensure compliance with safe food handling and transportation standards.
• Ability to maintain a clean delivery vehicle

GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY: Lunch service hours are between 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Dinner service hours are between 4:00 pm-6:00 pm, and the food delivery driver would need to be available to work during at least one of these shifts. Food service for La Crosse Campus occurs 7 days/week.

• The Food Delivery Driver will need to work collaboratively with other Food Delivery Drivers to ensure all lunches and dinners are delivered on time, delivering, on average, 7 meals each week.
• This position requires the ability to work every other weekend during the scheduled shifts listed above.

REPORTS TO: Director of Residential Services

JOB DUTIES:

• Collaborate with other Food Delivery Drivers to ensure coverage for each mealtime.
• Ensure student prepared meals are delivered to La Crosse Campus by designated mealtime:
  • Lunch - 11:00am
  • Dinner - 5:00pm
• Lift Food Cambro's, both empty and filled with food, into and out of vehicles.
• Return food bins from previous meal to contracted vendor.
• Follow traffic laws and safe driving practices at all times.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external teams.
• Complete routine cleaning of vehicle to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the job duties of this position. Regular lifting of a minimum of 25 lbs. The person in this position needs to be able to lift Cambros with food into and out of the delivery vehicle along with stacking filled and unfilled Cambros. Must be able to talk and hear to communicate with and exchange information with co-workers, vendors, and other members of the Chileda community.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position will regularly work in a vehicle, transporting items in the La Crosse community. The position will require walking into the Chileda and food vendor building to retrieve Cambros and may require going to collect food bins.
