Key Responsibilities

• Able to play a key role in providing personalized training, support, and care for individuals with developmental disabilities in a collaborative and nurturing environment.
• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
• Support clients in community outings, recreational activities, and appointments
• Administer medications and document accordingly (if certified)
• Promote independence by teaching life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, etc.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment
• Provide emotional support and encouragement
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and supervisors
• Complete accurate documentation and incident reports as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if transporting clients)
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience as a DSP or in human services preferred but not required
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable
