About Us

The Peoples Choice LLC provides compassionate, person-centered care to individuals in the ECF CHOICES program throughout Tennessee. We are dedicated to helping members live independently, safely, and with dignity in their homes and communities.

Position Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs assist with daily living activities, community integration, and skill development, while promoting independence and ensuring each persons safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene.

  • Assist with household tasks including meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning.

  • Support clients with medication reminders and following their care or behavior support plans.

  • Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities.

  • Encourage independence, personal growth, and community participation.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of care and progress.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and care teams.

  • Report any incidents, health changes, or safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a caregiving role.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Must be 18 years or older .

  • Valid drivers license , reliable transportation, and current auto insurance (if transporting clients).

  • Ability to pass background check .

  • Must complete all required onbarding training and certifications .

  • Compassionate, dependable, and patient demeanor with strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ECF CHOICES , DIDD , or HCBS programs.

  • Familiarity with behavioral support and electronic documentation systems.
