The role of the LTVS Delivery Services Manager is to lead an integrated engineering assessment of the SpaceX starship to perform all the services required as the delivery system for the Astrolab LTVS (Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services) program.
Note: This role is expected to be filled in April 2024 and is dependent upon the awarding of NASA's LTVS program.
What you'll do - Integrated evaluation of the ability of the SpaceX starship to serve as the launch vehicle, transit vehicle and lander of the LTV
- Integrated evaluation of the structural, mechanical, avionics, propulsion and navigation and control system systems of the Starship to act as the LTV launch, transit and landing system
- Integrated evaluation of interfaces between the LTV and the Starship to support these functions
- Integrated evaluation of flight test data from the Starship to validate its ability to support the LTV and the adequacy of the LTV system to utilize its Starship interfaces
- Ensure necessary distribution of SpaceX data and Astrolab analysis to meet NASAs needs for evaluating the combined LTV-Starship system while maintaining all necessary proprietary and export control restrictions
- Evaluation and distribution of Starship design environments for LTV including evaluation of adequacy by post test data evaluation
- Lead and manage the Astrolab LTV Delivery System Evaluation team
- Organize and present the LTV Delivery System Concept Review
- Provide all required deliverables to NASA validating Astrolab's planned use of the Starship for LTVS
What's Prepared You - Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 10+ years' experience in prelaunch and launch engineering as well as operations and/or flight operations and/or payload integration on launch vehicles
- 5+ years' experience in NASA programs
- Knowledge and experience in SpaceX's development methodologies and documentation
- Preferred advanced engineering degree or PE license
- Preferred 5 years systems engineering experience and knowledge of rapid spiral development methodologies
- Preferred 5+ years' experience in NASA flight programs
