JOB SUMMARY

The position is located in the heart of Dallas at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) . BUMC is consistently ranked as one of the best hospitals in the US by US News and World Report. It is a 1,000-bed Level 1 trauma center offering advanced cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, transplant surgery (including bone marrow, kidney, liver, heart, lung, and more), and comprehensive medical subspecialties. BUMC is affiliated with Texas A&M's School of Medicine, providing ample teaching opportunities. It is also home to the T. Boone Pickens Cancer Center, the top inpatient cancer facility in North Texas.

The Physician HTPN examines and treats patients with diverse conditions, takes patient histories, orders diagnostic tests, makes diagnoses, prescribes treatments, administers vaccinations, performs follow-up exams, and educates patients on disease prevention and health maintenance. The Physician HTPN will supervise the clinical activities of allied health professionals and advanced practice professionals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

1. Examine, record, and maintain patient information, including medical histories and examination results.
2. Prescribe or administer treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other medical care to treat or prevent illnesses, diseases, or injuries.
3. Order, perform, and interpret tests; analyze records, reports, and examination data to diagnose patient conditions.
4. Collaborate with a clinical team of technicians, advanced practice professionals, and other physicians in testing, diagnosis, and treatment decisions.
5. Monitor patient conditions and progress, reevaluating treatments as necessary.
6. Diagnose and treat conditions within your specialty, possibly performing surgical or non-invasive procedures.
7. Create post-operative care plans and recommend lifestyle changes.
8. Supervise the clinical activities of care teams, including other providers and allied health professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Seeking a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist in Downtown Dallas at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC).
• Mainly inpatient consultation work with supervision of experienced psychiatry NPs and a flexible call rotation.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry with an interest in psychosomatic medicine.
• Fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is preferred but not required.
• Full-time employed position with competitive salary.
• Faculty appointment with Texas A&M School of Medicine and teaching opportunities with residents and fellows.
• Candidates in training are welcome; no visa sponsorship available.
