Key Responsibilities
Communications Strategy Implementation
Collaborate with leadership to help develop and execute strategic communication plans that align with organizational goals.
Coordinate with team members to ensure communication plans are executed effectively and on time.
Ensure consistency in messaging across all communication platforms.
Media Relations and Outreach
Support media relations by responding to inquiries and drafting press releases.
Foster relationships with local media outlets to gain coverage for key initiatives.
Content Creation and Internal Communication
Develop engaging content, including newsletters, updates, and presentations for staff.
Work with internal teams to ensure effective and engaging internal communication.
Community Engagement
Help organize and promote community events and outreach campaigns.
Engage with residents and stakeholders to gather feedback and improve communication strategies.
Digital and Social Media Management
Support the management of digital platforms, including website updates and social media.
Monitor social media and online conversations to engage with the public and respond appropriately.
Crisis Communication
Assist in developing and implementing crisis communication strategies to maintain public trust and transparency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in communications or public relations, preferably in a public sector or government setting.
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.
Experience managing digital communication tools and social media platforms.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and build relationships across teams.

Additional Information
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Work Conditions: Office setting with routine use of office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Residency Requirement: Must become a resident within six months of hire.
