Summary of Position Responsible for providing educational guidance and assistance to students by assessing their needs, goals, interests, and prior academic experiences in order to guide them in a program of study. Advises students regarding information, procedures, and requirements of a specific program of study. Responsible for understanding and interpreting the College's policies and degree and certificate programs to help facilitate the student's academic success. Participates in recruitment and outreach activities. Provides support in the area to which the position is assigned.
Minimum Required Education Associates Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum Required Experience Associate degree with four years' primary work experience in student services related programs such as admissions, registration, academic advising, financial aid/VA educational benefits, or student accounts
OR Bachelor's degree with two years' primary work experience in student services related programs such as admissions, registration, academic advising, financial aid/VA educational benefits, or student accounts.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Demonstrated ability to offer excellent customer service and a passion to go above and beyond customer expectations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to persons of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and those with disabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Words, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use student information systems.
- Be able to work as a team.
- Able to manage stress well and be flexible in a changing, fast-paced environment.
- Be student-focused and exhibit a helpful and caring attitude.
- Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision.
Salary 1J/Per Salaried Pay Scale
Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - Mon - Thur 7:30am - 5:30pm Fri 7:30-11:30am
