As a Sushi Line Cook, you will develop and use your food passion to produce unique sushi offerings in a high-volume, open kitchen restaurant. ResponsibilitiesEnsure incredible service is provided by effectively handling a variety of tasksFollow proper recipes, knife skills and cooking techniques to provide consistent ingredients and finished productsBalance prep work while ensuring guests meals are prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high standardsPossess an understanding of ingredients used and menu offerings, sharing knowledge with restaurant team members Requirements2 or more years’ experience working as a sushi line cookExperience making sushi and other types of Japanese cuisine Knife skills Food safety and quality assurance knowledge Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant ingredients and cuisine Preferred QualificationsHighly proficient with cutting and working with whole fish, including handling sashimi-quality fishConfident working in an open kitchenExperience preparing sushi in a high-volume environment At Wegmans, we’ve long believed we can achieve our goals only if we first fulfill the needs of our people.
