About Us: We empower girls and women to move from hopeless to hopeful! The Thaddeus Resource Center is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to restore HOPE, inspire GROWTH, and EMPOWER girls and women through education, life skill development, workforce training, and other supportive services. Description: The Virtual Life Coach volunteer will help improve the lives of women, girls and families by providing advice/assistance with solving problems, and help others set/accomplish their goals. The volunteer will work at the donation center that strives to empower, educate, counsel, and inspire families and individuals to move from a place of dependence to living independently. Through guidance, the Life Coach volunteer will have a great impact on the lives of those who seek the path to a brighter future and life. The position can be performed fully in person and/or in combination of in-person and remote work. Time Commitment: All responsibilities will be done fully remotely, at volunteers’ discretion/time Must be available to work minimum 5 hours per week VIRTUALLY Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings: All Staff Meeting: Tuesdays 9-10 AM PST Weekly Programs Department Meeting: Tuesdays 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM (with 1 hour lunch between 12 PM - 1 PM) Must be able to commit to this 1-year volunteer opportunity Responsibilities: Provide support and advice Help others establish goals Help others achieve their goals Provide adequate and constructive feedback Encourage and motivate others Help others set priorities Monitor progress and find solutions to setbacks The volunteer works primarily with low-income and homeless women/families Requirements: Must currently reside in the U.S. or have prior work experience in the field within the U.S. Experience as a life coach or in counseling preferred Possess strong personal integrity and ethical principles Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organization, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience Be a positive role model Excellent listener Ability to motivate, encourage, and guide others Ability to pass the mandated reporter exam Volunteers must have the appropriate technology, internet connection, and ability to function in a virtual capacity via Microsoft Teams * We are an equal opportunity employer. ** Thaddeus Resource Center
