Intrepid Studios is looking for a VFX Artist to join our award winning team to work on our epic MMORPG Ashes of Creation. This position requires high-level artistic sensibilities and strong technical skills. We're looking for someone passionate about making great games, who is a strong problem-solver, and an effective communicator. If you think that describes you then we'd love to speak with you further

Required:

• Ability to create exceptional real time visual effects
• Creation of assets from scratch using in engine and 3rd party tools.
• 3D modeling and UV mapping skills
• Ability to proactively work across departments to discuss and overcome technical obstacles
• Driven to innovate and solve problems

Plusses:

• AAA Game Development Experience
• Unreal Engine experience
• Multidisciplinary background 
• Scripting or coding experience
• Houdini
• Simulation experience (Destruction, Fluids, etc)
• Strong traditional art skills
• Experience creating visual effects in a range of styles
• Avid gamer with a love for Fantasy MMO titles

Interview Overview:

• 30 min interview with a member of our Talent Team
• 30 min interview with the hiring manager
• Test
• Panel interviews with several members of the hiring team
• Final interview with the executive team
• References calls & a background check

Salary:

The base salary for this role is between $66,000 - $99,000, depending on skills and experience. We have competitive pay bands based on market standards and a significant annual bonus structure. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.
