• Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, Teaching Hospital\n
• Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract\n
• Start Date: January 12, 2026\n
• End Date: April 13, 2026\n
• Contract Length: 13 weeks\n
• Hours: 36 hours/week (guaranteed), rotating 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30), 3x12s or 4x12s per week\n
• Weekend Shifts: 4 per schedule (day), 4-5 per schedule (night)\n
• Patient Ratio: 1:2\n
• Orientation: 8 hours\n
• Charting System: Cerner\n
• Scrub Color: Black\n
• Parking: Free onsite\n
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1890 - $1940\n

\n\nPICU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active NM RN License (New Mexico Registered Nurse license; pending accepted)\n
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent PICU nursing experience (within the last 2 years)\n
• Experience in Level I Trauma facility strongly preferred\n
• BLS and PALS certifications required\n
• Proficiency with CRRT, ECMO, ventilators, and inotropic drips preferred\n
• Ability to float to NICU and assist in Pediatric Emergency Department (ED) as a resource\n
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)\n
• No local candidates within a 75-mile radius\n
• Personal transportation required\n

\n\nPICU RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients (neonates, infants, adolescents)\n
• Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses: respiratory distress/failure, renal failure, trauma, multi-system organ failure, CRRT, ECMO, hematology/oncology, and suicide attempts\n
• Utilize advanced pediatric critical care equipment: external ventricular drains (EVD), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, IV vasopressors\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services\n
• Float to NICU and assist in Pediatric ED with IVs, medications, and patient support (no primary ED assignments)\n
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner electronic health records\n
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education modules\n
