Job Description

Janssen & Spaans Engineering (JSE) is looking for a Traffic Engineer to join our team! This role provides engineering excellence, plans, identifies, prioritizes, tracks and monitors tasks and sequences in the process to produce the desired outcome. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Civil Engineering, a concentration in Transportation, and a professional engineering license (P.E.) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience. Civil design traffic experience for roadway projects to include but are not limited to: Interstates, Highways, Freeways, Urban Streets, Intersections including Roundabouts, and Interchange Layout.

Job Description:

• Design and implement traffic management plans to improve flow and safety.
• Analyze traffic patterns and data to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with other designers on transportation projects.
• Conduct traffic studies and prepare reports on findings and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Utilize software tools for traffic simulation and modeling.
• Design traffic signal systems, markings and signage.
• Develop traffic control plans for construction
• Develop Lighting Plans
• Engage with the public and stakeholders regarding traffic issues and solutions.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of traffic control measures.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in traffic engineering
• Accept additional responsibilities as trainings progress

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.E. Required: IN, LA preferred or comity)
• 10 years of experience
• Efficient analysis and critical thinking skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D or similar required
• Experience in BIM, P3 and Design-build projects
