The ideal candidate is responsible for repairing and refinishing furniture at the distribution center and at customer homes.**NOW OFFERING ON DEMAND PAY**OUR COMPANY OFFERS GREAT BENEFITS, INCLUDING: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)Opportunity for advancementMedical, Dental, Vision, & Retirement BenefitsEmployee Purchase Discounts of 30% or moreKEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspect of all assembled products in the run lane for delivery and assess if products can be repaired or must be replaced.Restore product to like-new conditions using proven techniques, including refinishing, re-upholstery, painting, etc.Repair damaged stock, wood, fabric, leather, and metal furniture using approved methods.Understand and follow all safe work practices and rules, including WHMIS.Answer guests' questions during in-home repairs.Document and complete service reports and paperwork, including inventory control information.Completion of electronic paperwork within our software platformCommunicate any issues (mechanical or otherwise) on the service vehicles.Attend training on furniture repair topics.Inspect and validate the repair parts.Understand, follow, and ensure compliance with all safe work practices and rules.Assure compliance with all Company policies and procedures.Demonstrate the company's values in all aspects of their work performance.Participate in our National Certification program.Other duties: this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that may be required, or which may change over time, and which can be changed at any time, with or without notice.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:High School diploma with two years of practical work experience in furniture repair, including upholstery, leather repairs, and wood refinishing.Combination of education and experience will be considered.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Driver's License Required.A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required. Some exposure to solvents.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Able to lift at least 50 - 100 pounds.Able to conduct physical work in warm and cold conditionsOperates various equipment and toolsMust have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability toadjust focus to read reports, view computer screen, etc.Must be able to hear and understand speech to interact with others.Must be able to speak so that others will be able to understand.Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with both hands to include keyboarding,handwriting, office/POS equipment and handheld equipment operation.Will remain on one's feet in an upright position and move about on foot.Will bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach at or aboveshoulder level.Will lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and more with assistance.Will work predominately in a warehouse environment; occasional work atnew retail locations under construction.
