Technical Writer (Hybrid)

Cognizant is looking for an experienced top-notch Technical Writer to grow with our team! As a Technical Writer you will be involved from conception to completion with projects that are technologically sound and aesthetically impressive. Location: Richmond, VA

• You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Position Responsibilities:

• Need to document SDK installation manuals, uses, etc.
• Experience as a technical writer, editor, or content strategist
• Business or professional writing including analysis/ report or proposal writing
• Ability to easily grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text, graphics and process flows
• Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write end-user, technical, system, product and process documentation, based on client needs
• Ability to analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
• Ability to deliver high-quality and technically accurate content by means of successful collaboration with information owners

Required Qualifications:

• 6 to 8 years of expirence working as technical writer
• Proficiency in using technical writing tools like Docusaras or Confluence.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing documentation changes and collaborating with developers
• Need to have basic knowledge in React/Node Js
• Experience writing user-focused documentation for a range of audience
• Experience in Tech Writing
• Experience in technology content writing
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic familiarity with the software development life cycle and in-depth knowledge of the documentation development life cycle
• Strong knowledge of processes, writing principles, and style guides
• Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and thoroughly
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to plan, manage competing priorities, and respond to changes quickly
• Manage content projects and working with teams and stakeholders
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides.
• Analyze existing and potential content.
• Create and maintain the information architecture
• Proofread and edit documents submitted
• Provide quick turnaround on expedited requests such as product errors, bugs, or issues.

The Salary rate for this position is between $68,422K –114K, depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
