Job Opportunity: Lead Technician, Electric Bus

We are seeking an experienced Lead Technician, Electric Bus to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting electric vehicle (EV) deployments, ensuring service continuity, and troubleshooting customer issues to maintain high customer satisfaction. Your technical expertise will be crucial in managing both in-warranty and out-of-warranty vehicles, overseeing service activities, and resolving technical challenges in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Electric Vehicle Deployments: Assist in the deployment of electric vehicles, ensuring smooth integration and optimal performance.
• Customer Satisfaction: Provide exceptional support for both in-warranty and out-of-warranty vehicles, ensuring that customer concerns are addressed effectively.
• Market Quality Reporting (MQR): Support the MQR process by analyzing repeat failures, issuing reports, and evaluating failure data to manage warranty costs and improve service reliability.
• Maintenance & Repairs: Perform critical maintenance and repairs, specializing in troubleshooting technical issues that arise with the vehicles.
• Supervision: Lead and supervise the service technicians, guiding them through troubleshooting, ordering parts, and replacing components as necessary.
• Failure Analysis: Investigate root causes of technical failures and develop effective countermeasures for recurring issues.
• Fleet Campaign Support: Assist in managing fleet-wide campaigns and ensure timely service.
• Site Visits & Team Collaboration: Regularly visit customer sites and collaborate with local teams to ensure that technical resources are available for field repairs.
• Customer Issue Resolution: Work closely with internal teams to resolve customer issues, ensuring a seamless service experience.
• On-Call Support: Be available for on-call support during weekends and evenings, ensuring that technical support is available whenever required.
• Confidentiality & Teamwork: Maintain confidentiality and promote a positive team-oriented environment.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: University Diploma in Avionics Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 5-10 years of practical and technical experience in the automotive industry, specifically with electric vehicles, buses, cars, or trucks.
• Diagnostic Expertise: Familiarity with diagnostics using a CAN J12939 logger, data logging, and analysis.
• Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of programming and implementing PLCs (Siemens TIA Portal and Logo Controller, Beijer) is considered an asset.
• Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a customer-oriented approach. Able to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and with customers.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
• Language Skills: Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset, particularly for working in a multilingual environment.
• Travel Requirements: Based at the customer site with frequent travel to suppliers and factories.
• Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sectors.
