We’re hiring a skilled tax professional to help our clients file taxes as well as represent them before the IRS and State Division of Taxation. You’ll handle audit issues educate businesses and individual clients on tactics to optimize their tax payment and advise them on how to save more in the future. Applicants should be strong communicators who can simplify complex tax information and provide excellent customer service. The position is remote but the ability to attend in-person meetings with the IRS and State of New Jersey is required. $28 - $32 hourly

• Review each tax form to make sure everything is accurate and ensure tax compliance
• Use the utmost care when handling documents that contain private client information
• Examine every client’s financial records, such as their income statements and previous tax returns, to calculate their total amount of taxable income
• Minimize the client’s tax liability by using each tax deduction and credit available to them
• Communicate with tax authorities and submit the final tax return on the client’s behalf

• Experience handling both basic and advanced levels of tax service, and has in-depth knowledge of the tax code, state tax laws, and federal tax laws
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Excel
• Five years of experience working as a tax preparer
• Obtained a current Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) from the IRS
• Experience using standard tax software to file returns
