POSITION SUMMARY:

The YMCA's Camp Lincoln in Kingston NH is now hiring for the 2024 camp season (June-Aug)!!!!

This is a great seasonal opportunity where you will enjoy the summer being outdoors, on a lake, doing fun activities and making money! As a Camp Counselor you will supervise juvenile campers and ensure their safety while providing high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervise young campers.
• Plans, leads, and implements camp programs for children.
• Maintains a schedule for camp participants.
• Ensures the cleanliness of the site.
• Lead recreational and educational activities (such as swimming, paddle boarding, crafting, etc).
• Mediates any campers' disputes.
• Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program.
• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
• Attend required abuse risk management training.
• Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
• Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
• Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

•Must be 16+

•Familiarity with various camp activities.

•Patient and reliable.

•Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.

•Organizational and communication skills.

•A love for children.

•Energetic and positive personality.

•Must be able to complete YMCA required training as scheduled by management.

•Must maintain updated certifications of the job (CPR and First Aid/AED).

•Must successfully clear FBI and state criminal background checks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time

•Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

•Ability to push, pull, bend and kneel regularly.

•Ability to work outdoors for entire shift, regardless of weather.
