Job Description



AECOM is hiring a Structural Engineer for our Buildings+Places practice. This position will be located in our downtown NYC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs structural design for buildings and transportation structures and prepares related engineering calculations and structural modeling. Building types may include but are not limited to commercial buildings, government buildings, rail stations and airport terminals.
  • Prepares structural analysis and Revit BIM models for various structures and coordinates with different disciplines 3D models.
  • Provides technical or operational guidance to graduate engineers
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
  • Prepares technical specification sections
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
  • May conduct peer reviews and make technical presentations
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered
  • Coordinates with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
  • Signs off and approves their own work

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements :

  • BA/BS in Structural or Civil Engineering plus two (2) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Professional experience with either ETABS or SAP, RAM Structural, AutoCAD, and SAFE, TEDDS, SAP2000, MathCAD, Revit experience is required to qualify for this position.
