Sr. VMware Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior VMware Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and maintaining VMware environments, with a strong focus on creating and supporting VMware clusters. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our virtualized infrastructure. This is a 4.5 month contract to hire and is eligible for hybrid flexibility after conversion.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain VMware clusters (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) across multiple environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize virtual environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Perform capacity planning and resource management within VMware environments.
• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized infrastructure.
• Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure seamless infrastructure integration.
• Patch, upgrade, and maintain VMware host systems and associated components.
• Develop and maintain documentation for VMware systems architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Support and enforce security compliance and best practices within virtual environments.
• Participate in the planning and execution of data center migrations, consolidations, and expansions.
• Provide escalation support for complex VMware issues and mentor junior team members.

$40 - $50 an hour
