Job Description

Salary: $60,000 - 85,000 per year Requirements:

  • I must possess the necessary language skills, analytical skills, and technical aptitude to become proficient with job-required tools and processes. On-the-job training may be provided as needed to address specific customer needs, with ongoing evaluations throughout the training period.
  • I need to have native-level proficiency in English.
  • I should have a minimum of two years of experience in Spanish linguist operations (such as translation and language analysis) and two years of experience in conducting media examinations for Document and Media Exploitation projects.
  • I should be willing to perform occasional shift work as required by mission demands.
  • I must achieve a minimum score of 3/3 in Reading and Listening in Spanish and 3+/3+ in Reading and Listening in English.
  • A Bachelor's degree along with at least 4 years of relevant experience is required, or a Master's degree with at least 2 years of prior relevant experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • I need to be able to produce concise summaries of highly technical and complex subjects that are accessible to a general audience.
  • I should have skills in outcome-based problem-solving for ambiguous and complex issues.
  • I must demonstrate the ability to maintain project momentum while working independently with limited oversight over extended periods.
  • I need to be capable of quickly scanning and processing a large volume of foreign language material to extract essential information.
  • I must understand customer prioritization requirements and apply them to files under review, using sound judgment in assessing the potential value of information.
  • I should have a proven track record in screening or translation projects, ensuring the integrity and meaning of the translated material.
  • I need to exhibit professional communication skills, both in writing and verbally (including email, spoken communication, and reports).
  • I should be able to make sound decisions, manage stress, meet deadlines, and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with report writing styles suitable for DOD and IC audiences is essential.
  • I must have proficiency in standard computer systems and office software, along with experience using media examination tools.
  • I need to be able to utilize customer-specific software programs and tools, or train to achieve proficiency in them.
Responsibilities:
  • I will conduct data discovery on extensive datasets of foreign language materials and identify key elements of information.
  • I will convert, reformat, parse, and otherwise exploit media files using customer tools to ensure compatibility and readability for translation systems.
  • I will prepare files and metadata for transfer to translation systems, including the review of foreign-language data.
  • I will produce reports of my findings and disseminate them to customers, analysts, and liaison officers.
  • I will prepare accurate written gists, translations, and/or transcriptions of both general and technical material.

We at Leidos seek skilled Triage Examiners fluent in Spanish to support media exploitation (MEDEX) and triage efforts in the National Capital Region (NCR). Our ideal candidates will have experience in general linguist operations and Document and Media Exploitation (DOMEX) operations. We value individuals who can utilize their language and analytical skills as well as their advanced computer systems knowledge to effectively manage triage examination projects. As Triage Examiners, you will conduct eDiscovery examinations on electronic media for content of interest using a variety of forensic examination tools, identifying and prioritizing items of importance for further processing based on customer standard operating procedures. We also expect you to maintain effective communication with superiors regarding task progress and significant findings, and create comprehensive reports for further dissemination to our customers.
