Social Media Marketing - Gift/Boutique shop

Mia’s Marketplace

Surf City, NC, USA

 

General Summary

This is a new in person position that is becoming available due to business expansion. We are looking for a person that can effectively handle the Marketing of three small gift shops. The ideal candidate would be able to create and execute marketing programs through engaging posts and short video ads to grow the business in the three unique locations. You will need to be able to work independently and coordinate with remote staff to meet objectives. Since you will be working on projects that span a couple of months, you need to be able to be organized and to be able to provide key updates through both written and verbal communication. Initiative is key, you must be a self-starter that can stay on top of the multiple tasks assigned.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Marketing

Create marketing plans.

Create content and manage social media posts. Respond to all direct messages and comments on all social media platforms belonging to the business.

Manage the online sales platform, Shopify.

Monitor the inventory and sales of product, assisting in pricing strategy decisions.

Incorporate vendors marketing themes into our marketing program to keep their message prominent to the consumer.

Plan and execute social events at store locations to assist with the marketing program.

 

Merchandising

Working with in-store staff, merchandise the product in the stores through the use of creative displays.

Communicate regularly with the store managers to share resources needed for executing the marketing

plan in store.

Assist with planning and buying of merchandise in the boutique according to current trends.

Participate in the purchasing decisions for product, to include travelling to national markets if needed to

help source merchandise.

Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor, work well with customers as well as associates.

 

Store Operations (As Needed)

Participate in store meetings.

Perform merchandise resets in the giftware and other departments throughout the store.

Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales ideas to store manager.

Ensure professional signage is current throughout the store.

Perform inventory counts.

Be professional in appearance and actions.

Assist in creating a positive, professional, and safe work environment.

Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.

Assist with maintaining and organizing back stock levels.

Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor

merchandise area.

Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Education/Training

High School or GED equivalent.

Ability to use graphic software.

 

Experience

Formal retail experience preferred. We are looking for someone with merchandising experience and a

flair for putting together displays. You will need to be able to work independently and coordinate with

remote people to plan and support promotions and product turnovers. A knowledge and appreciation of

giftware as well as boutique clothing is needed. Past experience with managing social media marketing

campaigns is a must.
