*Job Description:*
The Developer will be responsible for designing and developing an e-commerce platform using Shopify. Development will be restricted to native Shopify features and functions (no third-party apps or plug-ins). The role initially involves migrating an existing site from Zendesk to Shopify. Maintaining and improving links between articles and ease-of-navigation is imperative. Work will involve working with existing Shopify themes to build architecture and structure, and migrating all assets (including images, text, links) from Zendesk to Shopify. End result must focus on User Experience, to include navigability, clarity, and layout to ensure a seamless self-help experience for clients.
*Job Responsibilities:*
* Theme Development & Customization:
Modify content to match existing branding in current Shopify theme. Ensuring pages are optimized for ease of navigation and speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall performance.
* Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Identify and resolve any technical issues, debugging code as needed, and crating structure for ease of future website maintenance and updates
* Collaboration:
Working with Engineering, Customer Service, Sales, and eCommerce personnel to ensure quality and accuracy of ported contents. Identify broken links and missing information, work with teams to generate/replace content. Work to improve user experience and navigability
- Skills Required:*
- Proficient in Shopify platform: Deep understanding of Shopify's Liquid language and theme customization.
o Shopify theme development (Liquid + JSON)
o Familiarity with Shopify Admin/API for bulk content
* Front-end Development:
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies to ensure consistency in branding and quality of UX
o HTML/CSS for responsive content formatting
o JavaScript (basic or advanced for live search)
o SEO best practices (301s, schema markup)
o Accessibility (keyboard navigation, ARIA roles)
- Back-end Development: Familiarity with server-side technologies and database management.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
o Zendesk Help Center export know-how
o QA/cross-browser testing skills
- Communication and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Pay and Benefits*
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
