Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively. This role is critical in driving financial efficiency and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, and forecasts, providing insights to management on cost trends and variances.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for products and services, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial goals.
• Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for improvement, optimizing manufacturing and operating costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to determine cost drivers and efficiencies.
• Implement and monitor cost control measures, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including variance analysis and reconciliations.
• Support the development of financial models and scenarios to guide strategic planning initiatives.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
• Minimum of [5+] years of experience in cost accounting or a similar financial role
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting methods and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
  

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco notes the salary range for the role as follows: $95-115k . The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
