Company Description La Rabida Children’s Hospital provides specialized, family-centered health care to children with medically complex conditions, disabilities, and chronic illness. Through expertise, compassion, and advocacy we help children and their families reach their fullest potential, regardless of their ability to pay. Our not-for-profit hospital, licensed for 49 beds, assists patients in transition from intensive care to home, offers extensive rehabilitation, and delivers comprehensive pediatric patient-centered services for complex medical conditions. We also provide forensic and treatment services for children exposed to abuse and neglect, comprehensive assessments for youth in care, early intervention for children 0-3 years, and care coordination for medically complex children. Job Title Security Officer Job Description Security Patrol patrols internal and external building: hallways, secure and open doors, and parking areas. Driver operates shuttle service to and from the University of Chicago (hourly shuttles weekdays 7:30am-5:30pm, excluding holidays) and provides US Postal pick-up. Provides special transportation services: patient transports to off-site healthcare facilities, donation pick-up, vehicle maintenance, and various trips as requested. Information Desk Operations greets and directs visitors, issues visitor’s passes, serves as the communication command station for Security and Transportation Drivers, triages Emergency Room patients, monitors life safety systems, answers incoming calls, maintains internal paging, and serves as the primary attendant during console lunch/break. Camera and Door Surveillance Equipment views camera monitor and changes tape, and produces inspection door printouts. Qualifications High School diploma/GED Required. Customer Service background. Prefer at least two years experience as a Security Officer in a healthcare environment. 20-hour basic Security Training Program Certification (Certification waived for current/previous Security/Law Enforcement Officers). Valid State Driver's License - No major driving violations in past year. Must maintain valid driver's license while employed in this position. Knowledge of basic security operation.
