JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The armed Security Guard is responsible for maintaining the overall safety of Santa Anita Park.

Essential Functions

1. Observe and report any medical, criminal, hazardous incidents or suspicious activities or subjects, and take appropriate actions
2. Observe and report any potential incidents, liability, or damage to company property and take appropriate actions
3. Professionally interact with Santa Anita patrons and employees and be willing to assist on a regular basis – including complaints, directions, or questions
4. Assist with escort details as necessary
5. Maintain good working conditions in assigned areas and report any safety or maintenance repairs necessary to Plant Department
6. Write basic field interviews, reports, and observations including photographs
7. Be able to take control of and secure an area during a medical, critical, or hazardous situation and assist in investigations with Area Managers
8. Effectively communicate through telephone and radio
9. Ensuring that your weapon is well maintained and secure at all times
10. Utilizing your weapon in times of extreme attack, when non-violent options have been exhausted
11. Attending refresher training in weapons use, if applicable

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma
2. Valid driver’s license with clean record
3. Current Guard Card

1. Military training
