Onward Search is thrilled to partner with a school in Flint, MI, to find a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker for a full-time, in-person role. This impactful position begins in early February and continues through the remainder of the school year. Details You Should Know:

• Location: In-person only (no hybrid or virtual options)
• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Caseload: Supporting 3 schools
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Student Age/Grade Level: K-12

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop strategies for student success.
• Conduct assessments to identify barriers to learning and recommend interventions.
• Support students with IEP goals by providing required social work services.
• Act as a liaison between schools, families, and community resources to ensure holistic support.
• Address attendance issues, bullying, and crisis situations as needed.
• Promote a safe and inclusive school environment through social-emotional learning initiatives.
• Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports for student records.

Qualifications:

• Licensed with a School Social Worker Certificate from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) .
• Strong knowledge of child development, special education, and community resources.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
