🌟 Now Hiring: Road & Bridge Program Manager | Brevard County, FL 🌟

The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an experienced and dynamic Road & Bridge Program Manager to oversee the planning, maintenance, and construction of the county’s transportation infrastructure. This leadership role is responsible for managing multiple divisions, including Maintenance, Construction, Landscape, and Heavy Equipment Fleet, while ensuring the efficient operation of public roadways, bridges, and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the operational activities of the Road & Bridge Program, including project planning, budget management, and personnel oversight.
  • Develop and monitor contracts, ensuring compliance with established specifications and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and administration of the program budget, including resource allocation, expenditure tracking, and cost-control measures.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to develop recommendations for infrastructure improvements and policy enhancements.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, engineering teams, contractors, and the public on capital improvement projects.
  • Monitor and enhance key performance metrics to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead emergency response efforts related to transportation infrastructure, including hurricane and disaster preparedness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in transportation infrastructure maintenance and construction, including five (5) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Certifications:
  • FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) Certification (or ability to obtain within 9 months).
  • FEMA National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) Certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Public Administration, Organizational Management, or Organizational Leadership and prior local government experience.
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license and be available for 24/7 emergency response when required.

Work Environment:

This position requires both office-based administrative work and on-site inspections of construction and maintenance projects. The role may involve exposure to outdoor elements, active construction zones, and emergency response situations.
