We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Remote Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor (DE + LAPP/SAR) to join our dynamic team. As a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in our mortgage operations, ensuring that loan applications are thoroughly evaluated for creditworthiness and compliance with industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in DE (Direct Endorsement), LAPP (Loan Appraisal Processing Program), and SAR (Staff Appraisal Reviewer) and contribute to our mission of providing superior mortgage services. Responsibilities:
As a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Reviewing and analyzing loan applications and supporting documents to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
2. Utilizing your DE and LAPP/SAR certification to endorse FHA and VA loans.
3. Making informed decisions on loan approvals and denials based on thorough analysis and in compliance with company policies and federal regulations.
4. Providing detailed feedback to loan officers and processors to ensure the mortgage process runs smoothly and efficiently.
5. Collaborating with the loan processing team to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the underwriting process.
6. Keeping abreast of changes in policies and regulations that may impact the underwriting process.
7. Assisting in training and guiding junior underwriters and other team members.
8. Participating in regular team meetings and contributing to the overall improvement of the underwriting process.
9. Supervising a pod of Underwriters in your area
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor.
2. DE (Direct Endorsement) and LAPP/SAR certification.
3. Proficiency in underwriting FHA and VA loans.
4. Strong knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and guidelines.
5. Proven experience in reviewing and analyzing complex financial documents.
6. Exceptional decision-making skills with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within a remote team.
8. Experience in a supervisory or team lead role would be highly advantageous.
9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. Proficiency in using mortgage loan software and other related computer applications.
