Job Summary: This role will report to the Director of Release Management and manage daily operations for publishing all titles in the global SEGA portfolio (JP/Asia, NASA, EMEA) for pre-, post-, and initial launch activations, in addition to supporting and providing input for long-term strategic initiatives.
Release Management collaborates with global functional areas (Dev/Production, Operations, Submissions, Localization, QA, etc.) to ensure the SEGA portfolio is successfully published to global markets across 1st party platforms on time, error free, and executed flawlessly.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Day-to-day
- Provide project oversight, risk mitigation, escalation, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting
- Monitor and communicate project status clearly and concisely to all stakeholders
- Initiate and facilitate objective interdepartmental negotiation, compromise, and process optimization
- Strategy support
- Evaluate and implement launch readiness standards to establish a predictable process, address gaps, and ensure minimal surprises
- Promote a culture of collaboration across teams to drive continuous improvements, best practices, standardization, and documentation
- Initiate, drive, collaborate, and negotiate for process and tool creation, consolidation, and adoption with global operations
Qualifications Qualifications and Skills: - 2-5+ years in Project Management or related cross functional role in software development
- Impeccable attention to detail and consistent follow through
- Talent for process assessment and improvement
- Ability to multitask and prioritize across many different schedules and concerns
- Proficient with project management and version control software tools
- Adept presentation and communication skills
- Adapting messages for a variety of audiences (e.g. different disciplines and cultures)
- Skilled in risk assessment and management
Preferred Skills: - PMP Certification, PMO experience, or equivalent education/experience
- Leadership experience
- Consulting/freelance experience
- Experience exerting indirect influence in a matrixed org structure
- Managing release pipeline for LiveOps products
- Familiarity with game development lifecycle and workflows
- Shipped multi-platform games globally
- Familiarity with Japanese content, culture, and work environment
- Japanese language skills (speaking and writing)
