We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Property Accountant to join our team. This role will focus on managing the financial aspects of our multifamily properties, utilizing Yardi software. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, account reconciliation, and providing financial analysis and reports. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial aspects of assigned multifamily properties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Utilize Yardi software to manage all accounting functions, including general ledger entries, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
- Conduct regular financial analysis, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate with property managers and other team members to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare and present financial reports to management, providing insights and analysis as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to property accounting.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
- Participate in regular audits, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate financial records.
- Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, specifically with multifamily properties.
- Proficiency with Yardi software is required.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and account reconciliation.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
