Front Desk Medical Assistant (PRN) – Airport Clinic

Location:
5501 Josh Birmingham Pkwy, 3rd Floor Atrium, Ste 18, Charlotte, NC 28208
This is the airport clinic. Employees take a shuttle from the parking lot to security. Please arrive 20–30 minutes early daily for badging, fingerprinting, and security.

Schedule:
PRN – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, 8am–4:30pm CST

Duration:
4-month contract-to-hire

Why Open:
Backfill for someone who was consistently late. Professional references must speak to timeliness and professionalism.

Interview Process:

• 1 phone interview
• 1 onsite interview (bring ID, park in hourly deck, use a clear bag for personal items)

Screening:

• At least one complete reference required before screening
• Be prepared to answer: “How would you handle a stressed or impatient patient in an airport clinic setting?”

Must-Haves:

• 2+ years in a clinical setting as a patient service coordinator or medical assistant
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Front desk experience (check-in, scheduling, registration, patient flow)
• Strong customer service and de-escalation skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-security environment

Plusses:

• Occupational Health experience
• Experience working independently
• Familiarity with EPIC and OHM
• Prior airport or high-volume clinic experience
• Ability to multitask and pivot between front and back office duties

Job Description:
Support front desk operations including patient check-in, scheduling, and customer service. Cross-trained for back-office duties (hearing tests, flu/covid/strep testing, A1C checks, emergency response). Clinic sees 20–30 patients/day; documentation in EPIC and OHM. Must be professional, punctual, and confident in both administrative and clinical settings.
