Time Staffing has an exciting opportunity as a Printer at a local printing company. Candidates will operate computer controlled digital converting machinery, ensuring product quality and accuracy in all aspects of the production process.
Job Title: Printer I Hot Stamp, Ribbon, and Flexo Presses .
Summary of Position: An entry-level printing position for a high quality, flexible person, capable of advancing to higher positions. To assist all operators in every phase of production; become familiar with all operator routines.
Essential Duties: - Printing of quality products while maintaining high quality standards, minimal scrap, and acceptable productivity levels.
- Acquire knowledge of printing techniques, machine capabilities, and paper qualities.
- Learn to troubleshoot on printing equipment.
- Maintain equipment based on Preventive Maintenance schedules and daily cleaning schedules.
- Inform Trainer/Production Supervisor of key issues daily.
- Set a good example for all employees by displaying an excellent work ethic, being a team player, and observing all company policies.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the Trainer or Management.
- To remain vigilant for/safeguard against sanitation, pest control and contamination concerns.
- It is the responsibility of all team members to ensure product integrity.Product should be monitored for signs of contamination or quality defect and issues segregated and reported.
- It is the responsibility of all team members to ensure process integrity.Potential sources of contamination or impacts to performance or quality should be reported promptly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Capable of reading a ruler in increments up to 1/64".
- Ability to mix base color inks to make PMS colors.
- Able to mount printing plates on appropriate cylinders.
- Some mechanical aptitude.
- Works excellent with peers, Supervisor, and Management.
- Can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strive for quality within the department and encourages others to do the same.
- Goal oriented and accepts new job challenges.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Cost and quality conscious.
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is helpful.
- Ability to accurately record data into handwritten logs and/or various computer programs, such as Excel or MIS software.
Training and Experience: - High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 0-2 years printing press experience.
Physical Requirements: - Climbing - ascending and descending.
- Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking.
- Pushing, pulling, and using pushcart.
- Lifting up to 50-75 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Fingering, grasping, and feeling.
- Talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
- Very heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects, such as paper rolls.
- Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
- Subject to noise.
- Subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, and climbing.
- Subject to atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system or the skin such as fumes and vapors from varnishes, various chemicals, or cleaning agents.
- Required to function in narrow aisles.
